We had an awesome time at the Pocket Gamer Connects Seattle show from May 16-17. Overall a great first tabling experience for Tea Witch Games! We are masters of decoration.
It’s great to see a new people come into the Discord! A lot of people we have in our Discord server are testers, and I think over time we will take in more testers when releasing new major patches.
Seeing many players replay the beginning of the game over and over, it was good to see some bigger struggles people had with the early game – namely, how to interact with objects/doors, and that most people are not remembering/reading the opening tutorial.
Some repeated questions are things like “what do the different doors/options mean” which I do understand, but also am unsure how best to convey that to the player (do I leave it up to them to figure out? Do we have a huge amount of text explain everything constantly?).
I’m going to figure how to put in some more tutorial reminders in general for a V.4b patch, and possibly change how the interaction function works. My biggest fear is eventually doing remappable buttons and how tricky that will make telling the player how to interact with things, though hopefully I’m just overthinking it.
We’re very excited that in the next month we will have more work in from our amazing creators! We already have a few popular monsters from @bugbearstew in the 2nd Act of the Labyrinth, with many more to come.
Ro has already made a variety of character busts, and soon, every character bust in the intro of the game will be done! And of course, SaiyaSounds has nearly completed making every track needed for the Early Access already.
We are having a lot of fun making new trailers out of these pieces as well, which will be exciting to later update Steam with.
Be sure to see and follow what they are doing!
