011. OTK Games Expo & Beyond!

Demo V3.0: The Demo is nearly done!

We wanted to finish up earlier, but a few things needed to happen with Rogue Labyrinth in order for it to be ready for numerous events this Summer. Recently, there has been a lot of focus on game balance, with the goal being to encourage players to try out a variety of actions.

We learned not long ago that we are going to be featured in OTK, as well as a few more exciting events this year! We’ve been pretty heads-down in order to get a lot of changes in game in anticipation for this, but we hope to be able to get back to interacting with the community again soon. There has also been a lot of changes to the characters and narrative of the game. A lot has to do with scope, with decisions to reduce the number of initial characters – at least for the demo. We also want to make the narrative more manageable, reducing how many characters were talking to the character at any given time, and how long they were talking. We are also switching to more animated art, though all of this is still in progress.

Design wise, a lot is being timed and calculated for adjustments. Generally speaking, DPS is higher, and a lot of moves have been added or adjusted to help diversify people’s playstyles. Damage from bouncing objects is way higher, and there is now the ability to knock enemies around like billiards. Whatever helps add to the control of chaos is what we are aiming for!

We still need to work on implementing some events on the Map, as well as re-laying out the lobby to be better and beautifying the whole game. We can definitely say that the Demo will be fully finished by end of July, if not sooner.

See you all at OTK (and more!)
